There has been a lot of exciting news with the opening of the new picture gallery in Edinburgh where a number of Alfred Bucham pictures are on show which are part of the collection bought for the nation back in 2008.

There is also a major exhibition at Compton Verney Titled Flight and the Artistic Imagination where Buckham's photographs are being exhibited along with works form Leonardo da Vinci, José Francisco de Goya y Lucientes, Paul Nash, Peter Lanyon and Hiraki Sawa, the reader will be provided with a unique overview of artists' creative responses to flight, from the earliest imaginings to an era in which space travel has allowed us to glimpse other worlds.
